A luxurious penthouse owned by a late famous TV and stage actress is set to go to June 2 auction … and her son says it was her “home of choice”.

The apartment at 8/4 Milson Rd, Cremorne Point belonged to Fernande Glynn and her husband, late entrepreneur Willy Stader.

Glynn is known for Hunter (1967), Homicide (1964) and Riptide (1969).

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit with double parking and iconic harbour views is listed with Belle Property Mosman’s Matthew Smythe, who is quoting a $6.75m price guide.

Fernande Glynn is a stage name — her real name was Fernande Stader.

She passed away in 2012 at age 83, having lived at the apartment for 27 years with her husband, Willy Stader.

He was an entrepreneur who arrived in Australia with nothing in the early 1940s after escaping World War II.

He lived in the apartment by himself after Fernande’s passing until 2022, when he died at the age of 102.

Fernande’s son, David Unicomb, said his mother always considered Cremorne Point her home of choice, despite living in many beautiful locations across Sydney during her lifetime, including Church Point, Balmoral and in the Astor and ‘Toaster’ buildings in the CBD.

Glynn considered the penthouse her favourite Sydney property, partially because of this view.

The apartment has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Unicomb said: “She loved looking at the magnificent city lights of an evening or seeing the life and activity on the harbour by day.”

“While many move away from the city in their retirement, she believed you should move closer and surround yourself with activity rather than seek the quiet life.”

Unicomb said that for many years, Glynn and her husband enjoyed the waterfront walks of Cremorne Point.
