  • Legacy is a loaded word. And Rio will be hearing it a lot during and after the 2016 Games, which begin today amid much razzmatazz in the city’s Maracana stadium.

    For London, four years on, it triggers heated debate, especially in and around the Olympic Park — now rebranded the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park — where it’s sometimes hard to see the homes for the cranes.
