An exotic terracotta villa on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is offering guests a taste of Morocco without leaving the Harbour City.

Perched on top of a nature reserve in Bilgola Plateau, 37 kilometres north of the CBD, ‘Earth House’ promises to take you ‘on a journey to faraway places’ while Australia’s international border remains closed.

Built from recycled materials in 2002, the North African-inspired oasis – which can be booked on Airbnb – is comprised of three interconnected buildings filled with furniture and trinkets from Morocco, India and the southwestern US.

For $1,450 a night, eight guests can relax on one of the many lounge rooms or under the frangipani trees on the outside cabana and sundeck, jump in the resort-style pool or swim in the ocean below with one of the surfboards available on-site, then wash the day away in one of the house’s opulent bathtubs.
