Actor Sophia Forrest, daughter of billionaire mining magnate and pastoralist Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest, baulked four years ago when she enquired about the cost of a Surry Hills terrace and was told a guide of $3.4 million.

It is perhaps understandable she “choked and hung up”, as she told Sunday Life magazine, given her philanthropic dad has previously stated he won’t be leaving his fortune – estimated at $23 billion on last year’s AFR Rich List – to his three kids, Grace, Sophia and Sydney.

But the 26-year-old won’t be left homeless, with records revealing she has bought something more affordable in downtown Waterloo.

Warehouse 5 at Waterloo was built by St Hilliers as one of the leading developments in the gentrified suburb.

The two-storey penthouse atop Waterloo’s prized Warehouse 5 complex with uninterrupted views to Sydney’s north-west settled in Forrest’s name this week after an off-market campaign for $1.8 million. No finance needed.
