Between the two of them, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have quite the impressive international reach. Both are revered in their respective industries and, as such, are frequently globe-trotting, whether it be for her to film Nine Perfect Strangers in her native Australia or for him to perform at the Country Music Television awards in Nashville. It makes sense, then, that their real estate portfolio encompasses properties in New York City, Beverly Hills, Nashville, and several cities in Australia.

The couple got married in 2006 in Australia and began their venture into real estate shortly afterward. The Northman star explained to Harper’s Bazaar that the pair prefers their home life to be comfortable and private, which has likely factored into their real estate decisions. “Obviously, I work hard, but when I’m off, I’m off,” Kidman told the publication in 2018. “Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet, and nourishing because we’ve made it like that.” Below is a glimpse into some of the places the couple calls home.

Just one year after they wed, Kidman and Urban shelled out $2.45 million for their first home together, a 36-acre country spread in Franklin, Tennessee, about 25 miles south of downtown Nashville. The property was immensely private, with a long drive through wooded terrain leading up to the red-brick main house and separate guest cottage. The main house measured 5,086 square feet and featured four bedrooms and four full and two half bathrooms, with immense windows and skylights throughout. Highlights included a main bedroom suite with its own private sitting room, a stone-tile bathroom with a garden tub, and a massive walk-in closet. They listed the home in 2016 and finally found a buyer two years later, for $2.7 million.

The couple’s second Nashville property was a much grander affair: a $3.47 million mansion situated in the ritzy gated community of Northumberland. The two-acre spread, known as the Queen of Northumberland, features a 10,925-square-foot main house with seven bedrooms and eight full and two half bathrooms. There is a home theater, a 30-foot-long hobby room, and massive common areas ideal for hosting. The landscaped grounds also offer amenities such as a large swimming pool and tennis courts. The couple considers this to be their primary home and still owns it.

That same year, the pair also bought a $4.7 million contemporary home in the coveted Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood of Los Angeles featuring five bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and one half bathroom. Images of the 3,977-square-foot home reveal a primarily stone-and-concrete structure with a flat-top roof, a second-floor wraparound deck, and shaded patio areas for enjoying the warm outdoors. The pair appears to still own this home.

On the other side of the globe, Kidman and Urban began to invest in Australian real estate with the purchase of a rustic farm called Bunya Hill in Sutton Forest, New South Wales. It has been reported that the couple shelled out either a little over $4 million or $6.5 million for the 110-acre property, though an exact amount has not been ascertained. The main house, a Georgian mansion built in 1878, was the backdrop for Kidman’s 73 Questions interview with Vogue. The actor’s whirlwind tour of the place gave fans a rare glimpse into the famously private couple’s living quarters: a green-wall pool room just off the main entrance, a charming library with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves, and a bright sunlit living room with a wood-burning fireplace, among other rooms of note. There is also a small guest cottage just off the main house, and open fields for cows and other livestock.

The following year, they dropped $4.16 million for a penthouse apartment in Sydney. The 4,521-square-foot unit overlooks the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, and images from units in the building reveal large glass sliders; pristine minimalist kitchen cabinets and countertops; and an open-plan layout. The penthouse also has access to a covered rooftop area perfect for entertaining on balmy summer nights. Building amenities include a pool, spa, and gym.

The “Wild Hearts” crooner and the Big Little Lies star shelled out $10 million for another Stateside property in 2010, this time a luxury apartment in NYC’s West Chelsea neighborhood best known for its high security and Sky Garage, a futuristic car elevator that brings vehicles to parking spaces on the 10th floor of the building. Most are located just steps from the living units, giving residents the familiar convenience and privacy of a car parked outside a suburban home. The unit measures 3,248 square feet and has three bedrooms, two terraces, and an impressive double-height great room with a 23-foot cathedral ceiling. The unobstructed views of the Hudson, though, may just be what makes the apartment.

Two years later, the parents of Sunday, 13, and Faith, 11, upped the ante in Sydney by purchasing a second penthouse in the same building where they’d bought their first one, this time for $4.85 million. The plan was to combine both units into an even larger penthouse. They also purchased a third smaller apartment in the same building (though not a penthouse unit), which they use as a home office. They paid $1.85 million for the space.

In the early months of the pandemic, the musician and the actor felt the time was right to reinvest in real estate, so they bought a two-bedroom pied-à-terre in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood for $3.5 million. Located inside a landmarked building by architects McKim, Mead, and White, with three separate entrances, the unit is perfect for paparazzi-shy Urban and Kidman. Units in the building feature arched windows and wide-plank oak floors, with tall ceilings and oversized windows providing ample natural light.
