Broadcast journalist Anjali Rao enjoyed a life luxury while working for CNN in Hong Kong, before losing everything and having to start again.

‘I absolutely raked it in at CNN,’ she boasted this season.

‘I had everything, I was loaded,’ she added. ‘I had my three yachts, boat staff, and four club memberships. My child had his own maid and I could fly off anywhere around the world whenever I wanted.’

Despite her life of luxury, Anjali came crashing back down to reality after leaving her job and returning to Melbourne to rebuild her career Down Under.

The 47-year-old now lives in a suburban home and drives a 2007 Holden Astra worth about $6,000.
