Tight planning controls in the historic ‘garden suburb’ mean buyers can only build single-storey homes on the land.

The homes must also be built off the ground as the site is prone to flash flooding.
‘When people put in an application to build, they’re probably going to be disappointed,’ Inner West councillor Lucille McKenna told ABC News.
‘You can’t build a two-storey home in Haberfield – it’s very limited with what you can do.’
