PIMPAMA was once known for its farm produce but is now a bustling hive of development activity as more people choose to make the suburb their home.
With a farming history dating to the 19th century, Pimpama was the first town in southeast Queensland to have a sawmill. Pimpama State School opened in 1872.
A cluster of houses sprouted after World War II. In the 1960s the suburb was planned to be one of the more progressive areas south of Brisbane after being bypassed by a new highway.
