Fresh sign the Commonwealth Games are coming to Queensland

IT’S the first big sign that the Commonwealth Games event is heading to the Queensland coast, with construction kicking off on a multimillion-dollar project that will form the Games Village.

Grocon’s Parklands Project at Southport will be transformed into the Commonwealth Games Village for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

It’s believed to be the biggest project of its kind undertaken on the Gold Coast to date, and will result in over 1,250 dwellings, including 1,170 apartments and 82 townhouses, 5,840sq m of retail space and 7ha of green landscaped space around the ‘Village Heart’.
