An NRL exec who played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Penrith Panthers and also Italy has bought a $4m house in Coogee.

Shannon Donato, who is the chief commercial officer and former chief executive at the Rabbitohs, has pounced on a six-bedroom, three-bathroom home with double garage at 152 Arden Street.

When contacted, the sales agent, Chris Volpatti, wouldn’t discuss the identity of the purchaser of the home, on a 362sqm block, though other sources were more forthcoming, saying Donato paid “about $4m”.

It’s understood the Donato family has been renting in the area after selling elsewhere last year.

The result on the house is good news for the vendors, James Pearson and Vivienne Antos.

Property records show the couple had tried to offload the house unsuccessfully with a price guide of $3.3m both last February and in 2017.
