First-home buyers are being priced out of Sydney’s outer-city suburbs where it’s now even unaffordable to buy a block of dirt.

It now costs more money to buy a block of dirt in an outer-city suburb of Sydney than an already built home in another capital city like Melbourne or Brisbane.

The most expensive suburb in Sydney to buy a vacant block – based on areas with the highest number of land sales – is The Hills’ suburb of Kellyville, where the median price is now $750,000
