A millionaire Brisbane socialite who told a builder she would ‘f**k him over’ in a dispute about building work on her luxury home said she ‘could not live’ with a pool fence the way it was installed, a court has heard.
Louise Morton, the wife of leading oncologist James Morton, is being sued by luxury home builder Thallon Mole in the Brisbane District Court for $638,634 in unpaid bills for work on her $6million architect-designed house with a pool at Holland Park.
In earlier proceedings a recording was played to the court in which Mrs Morton, 50, was alleged to have said to builder Bruce Mole: ‘My pockets are deep, my time is long and I will f*** you over,’ after allegations about defects in the work.
Mrs Morton had allegedly excluded the building company from her home in April 2019 after a series of disagreements.
The court heard her main problems were with the builder’s use of high-end ceiling-to-floor internal sliding doors — each 2.8m high — which were different to the Swiss-designed Schuco brand worth $170,000 that she had wanted.
