A Victorian man has gifted the title deed of two homes to his long-term tenants and passed along another $17.5 million to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
John Perrett gave the money to the hospital’s renal unit after it gave him a kidney 30 years ago, News Corp reported. He passed away in September from issues related to Parkinson’s disease.
Former tenant Jane Sayner described him as a “brilliant landlord” and the “best person around”.
She said he told her that she could stop paying the rent when he died after he moved into assisted living.
