Ever wondered what happens to child prodigies when they grow up? Ebon Bokody was just 13 when he became the youngest person to pass the advanced maths exam for the HSC.

At the time he told The Sun-Herald he wanted to be a tennis player in the future, “but if I can’t do that I guess I could do something with maths”.

He sure did. Having graduated from his maths and IT degree at the University of Western Sydney with the Dean’s Medal at 18, he founded high-frequency firm Exponential Trading at 25.

But he waited until he was 34 to make his debut on Sydney’s high-end housing market as the $10.7 million buyer of a house in Greenwich.

Sydney and Melbourne have ‘absolutely turned into buyers’ markets’

The purchase of the ultra-contemporary residence has set a non-waterfront record for the sleepy lower north shore suburb, topped only by the $13.57 million paid last September for the waterfront home of the late yachtie Keith Tierney.

Bokody’s new digs on the high side of the suburb – known as the Bronze neighbourhood to locals – is a Studio IZ-designed residence with a tatami guest room, meditation room, glass-fronted lift, two kitchens and a pool. It was sold by Harbourline’s Bernadette Hayes and Christie’s Darren Curtis on behalf of Qinsi Zhang.
